Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information StillGood collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. StillGood is a food expiry tracking app available on Android.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, these are provided by Google and we do not see or store your password. If you register with email and password, your password is hashed and managed entirely by Firebase Authentication — we never have access to it in plain text.
Food item data
All food items you add — including their name, expiry date, category, and quantity — are stored locally on your device and synced to your personal cloud account. This data is only accessible to you.
Usage consent
When you first use the app, we record a timestamp confirming you accepted the in-app disclaimer. This is stored to confirm you acknowledged that StillGood is a manual logging tool and not a food safety verification service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and secure your account.
- To store and sync your food items across app sessions and devices.
- To send you local push notifications about items approaching their expiry date.
- To display your name in the app interface.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app features described above.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored in two places:
- On your device — in a local SQLite database. This allows the app to work fully offline. The database is cleared when you sign out.
- In the cloud — in Google Firebase Firestore, under your unique account ID. Cloud data is encrypted at rest and in transit by Google.
4. Third-Party Services
StillGood uses the following third-party services to operate:

Firebase is operated by Google LLC. Their privacy practices are described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
We do not use any advertising networks, behavioural analytics, or data brokers.
5. Notifications
StillGood requests permission to send push notifications on Android. Notifications are generated locally on your device using your food item data — they are not processed or triggered by our servers. You can revoke notification permission at any time from your device settings.
6. Data We Do Not Collect
- Location or GPS data
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IMEI, Android Advertising ID)
- Camera images or files from your device
- Contacts, calendar, or health data
- Browsing history or cross-app activity
- Behavioural analytics or usage events
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Your data is only shared with the infrastructure services listed in Section 4, solely to operate the app.
8. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.
- Sign out — removes all locally stored data from your device immediately.
- Account deletion — submit a request via our Account Deletion page. We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days and send a confirmation to your email.
9. Children's Privacy
StillGood is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
